Today Isa, also known as @isartvlog talks to us about her passion for the ritual of writing, and its components, such as paper and ink.

Hello everyone. How are you? My name is Isa. I've had a YouTube channel for about... almost 10 years, I'd say. It started with a specific theme, it has evolved over time, transitioning to a stationery theme... And through that, I rediscovered the world of fountain pens. This rediscovery was mostly thanks to a friend of mine, Noe, @desdemicaos on Instagram.

This was my first fountain pen, and it was the first one I bought. Well, actually, the first one I bought was this one, a Pilot Kakuno. Through these two pens, I began to re-enter the world of fountain pens and started buying new ones. I also began collecting stationery materials with a different level of quality.

My favourite brands don't lean towards excessively expensive pens, as it's not something I can afford. However, I do use Twsbi pens quite a lot, as well as a lesser-known brand called Jondian that I really like.

I have my Twsbi Eco pens, which I use... they're practically the ones I use the most. I have these four. I also have a Twsbi Diamond, but it's currently out of ink. Then there's Jondian, this brand that has these types of pens which are really practical.

There's a specific pen that I want, a very specific one that's nearly impossible to find. It's a pink and white Pelikan pen. It was released years ago, and it's impossible to get now, but it's so beautiful... Sometimes I have pens that I only want to look at. For example, this is a Platinum Plaisir, I think that's what it's called. It's a special edition Hello Kitty pen. And so, I only want it to... because I don't like how it writes, this Platinum writes very thick for my taste. But it's very pretty, so... I sometimes have things like that, and that Pelikan pen would be one I'd have just to admire.

And then, as a sort of abstract pen model that I always use and really like to write with, it would be a pen that writes very, very fine, has a large ink capacity... So, for example, this is my ideal pen. Among my Twsbi pens, it's the one that writes the finest because it holds a lot of ink, and I don't have to refill it often.

What I love most about the world of pens, I think, is the ink. The ink or the paper. I really enjoy trying different colours. In the early days of my channel's shift towards stationery, I liked buying pens in different colours.

When I discovered this world of inks – back when I was a teenager, I used to write with a pen, but I always used blue ink – I really got into the world of inks and colours, comparing them. And one of my favourite things is creating these kinds of cards where I collect all the ink samples I make. My preference, obviously, is Tomoe River paper. I really, really like Tomoe River paper, and I like notebooks that use this kind of paper.

The perfect everyday pen for me has two essential characteristics: firstly, that it can be used quickly. For instance, Metropolitans have a click mechanism, so you can use them really fast. It's not the same as grabbing a Twsbi, which you have to unscrew.

The second characteristic is that it's very affordable, yes, that it's very affordable. I wouldn't take my Twsbi Diamond out on the street, for example. That it's very cheap, not limited, and quick to use.
