We are honored to hear from David from Figboot on Pens about his love of writing.

Read below for a transcript of the interview:

David here with FigBoot on Pens not with a review, but with a special video for Iguana Sell to answer some questions, so let's get into it shall we? I actually had a friend at work penable who wasn't a big fountain pen user who just had one was a safari or an All-Star I honestly can't remember which one it was but he showed me one day and said I'd like to use one so I went to an online retailer and bought this pen here a silver Lomi All- Star, I felt a little crazy spending almost $40 on a pen that didn't come with the converter so for a long time I just used cartridges. Then, a while later, I participated in a holiday gift exchange on the website Reddit and put a pen on my wish list and got this Parker Urban, which came in a little gift set with a bottle of ink. The Urban had a converter and I really enjoyed filling my pen with ink, the act of filling the converter was a satisfying ritual and although it's a bit of an odd converter, it has a plunger design as opposed to the twist-up design you see in most converters, it works well enough. years before I got the itch to see what else was out there, I picked up a twisby diamond 580 and thought it was one of the coolest things I've ever owned and after that I really got into fountain pens, my favorite brand, which is a little tricky because there are some collectors who like to focus on one or a few specific brands, I like to spread things out a bit and try a little. the pens I have the most are pilot Visconti sailor and Leonardo I think pilot makes some of the best nibs on the market viscontis has some of the nicest and most unique pens sailor has a good combination of interesting materials and an excellent nib and Leonardo has produced models with some amazing resins.

my perfect everyday pen is the one I feel like picking up that day, I really like variety in my collection I would like to have a collection full of small pocket pens no, but it's fun to mix things up and use one for a day, sure I do, that's one of the great things about this hobby, you can enjoy it in many different ways You might have one pen that you use every day and enjoy it, that's great, or you might have a very large collection and you can go a whole year without using the same pen twice. That looks good, writes well and has a close personal connection, that's the trifecta, the most important thing being the close personal connection. A pen is just a pen, but a pen with a story is something different. but I also look at the stationery store in the subway mall next to the Louvre in Paris. I think about the family vacation we took to France and all the interesting things we saw and experienced. I like many things about the pen world, first of all, I like the people, I have made countless friends in the pen world that I would not have met otherwise. Whenever I attend a pen show, it's nice to go around and see everything. What I enjoy most is hanging out and reconnecting with friends, as well as making new ones. that your hobby is something tangible, something you can use. The objects of many hobbies sit on a shelf or in a display case or behind protective plastic. there are days in everyone's life when we need to feel happy, even if it revolves around something as seemingly small as writing with a special fountain pen.
