- La Dotta Turrita, Valverde and Al Zigant are a tribute to the history of the city of Boñonia and some of its most significant monuments from the medieval/renaissance era.
- Bologna, at that time, was considered a real "turrita jungle", a wild city with turrets, like Manhattan today, but almost a millennium older.
- The Valverde cistern is a work of hydraulic engineering built in the 16th century and was built to supply water to the city.
- The Fountain of Neptune is one of the most famous monuments in Bologna and was built in the 16th century to celebrate the power of the city. The famous fountain received an affectionate and ironic nickname from the Bolognese, "Al Zigant" (the Giant), in the Bolognese dialect, and it is a way of underlining its greatness and its impact on the city.
