The Secret Journey in Italy: Stops 1 to 4

Aurora has been widely recognized for its commitment to quality and craftsmanship in each of its products. The Secret Journey in Italy: Stops 1 to 4

The main sense of this collection is hearing, as each city is accompanied by a QR code that will immerse you in the atmosphere of the place, and a beautiful watercolor bookmark.

Each fountain pen in this collection features carefully crafted details and high-quality materials, making them unique collectible pieces for writing and Italian culture enthusiasts.

Discover the first four stops.

STOP 1: MATERA

The first stop of the journey is Matera, a city in the Basilicata region in southern Italy. Matera is famous for its ancient dwellings carved into the rock called "Sassi," which were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993. However, Aurora takes you to discover the true secret of this city, which is the underground water cistern called "Palombaro Lungo." The network of cisterns was one of the main features that contributed to the Sassi becoming a world heritage site.

Aurora Matera

These cisterns extended under the city like the roots of a tree, their construction dates back to the 19th century and supplied the city with water. Their walls made of tuff covered with plaster and more than 15 meters high were rediscovered in 1991 to become a spectacle worth seeing.

In this limited edition fountain pen, the colors of the stone blend with the ultramarine of the cistern water, evoked in the turquoise tone of the ink. A unique writing experience to discover the fascinating secret of Matera.

STOP 2: VOLTERRA

The journey continues to Volterra, a walled city in southeast Florence. This city offers an Etruscan spectacle and contains the oldest castle in Tuscany, and furthermore, something that not everyone knows, it is the place where the most valuable alabaster in Europe is extracted.

Aurora Volterra

Aurora Il Viaggio Segreto In Italia Volterra

The alabaster of Volterra is 7 million years old and each quarry has a different type. Part of what makes it so special is its elaboration, which is based on tradition and is transmitted from generation to generation.

The warm colors of this limited edition fountain pen represent Tuscany and blend with the translucent color of alabaster, both of which merge into the sepia ink.

STOP 3: BAIA

The third stop is Baia, an underwater park in the Gulf of Naples, also known as the small Atlantis. Baia was considered the "city of sin" in ancient Rome. It was where the powerful traveled more than 2,000 years ago to satisfy their pleasures. However, the city began to decline after centuries of activity and disappeared underwater due to volcanic activity and rising sea levels.

Aurora Baia

Aurora Il Viaggio Segreto In Italia Baia

Over the centuries, the city of Baia was forgotten and its ruins were submerged under the waters of the Gulf of Naples. Today, archaeologists and divers have discovered some of the ruins of the ancient city underwater, including temples, theaters, thermal baths, and luxury villas. These archaeological finds offer a fascinating glimpse into life in ancient Rome.

This limited edition combines the dark blue color of the sea in its body with the intense blue of the ink to recreate this magical city.

STOP 4: BURANO

The journey continues to Burano, a very small island in Venice, famous for its lace production, as well as being the homeland of composer Baldassare Galuppi. Another characteristic of the island, and the one that Aurora explores in its limited edition, is being the most colorful city in Italy with its vibrant pastel-colored houses.

Legend has it that the vivid colors of the houses were painted by the fishermen themselves and served to help boatmen and fishermen find their homes at night, even in the thick fog of the Venetian lagoon.

The fourth release of the collection presents a multicolored body that recreates the colorful landscape.

Continue traveling with Aurora and discover the magic of Italy.
