Citizen Promaster Aqualand Altichron Eco Drive

In a world filled with luxury timepieces and horological jewelry, it’s important to remember that the wristwatch was designed to be a tool. In our opinion, one of the brands that has done its best to advance the craft of watches as functional objects in the past three decades has been Citizen and its innovative Promaster line. The Japanese manufacturing values precision, efficiency, performance, and durability, above all else.

Citizen Promaster Aqualand JP2000-08E

The original Citizen Promaster Aqualand diver was created to meet the needs of professional saturation divers and was the first watch ever equipped with a digital depth gauge, allowing the Promaster Aqualand to replace the need for a bulky depth computer on extended scuba dives.

Citizen Promaster Aqualand Eco-Drive BN2038-011

The Citizen Promaster Aqualand BN2038-01L is an analog dive computer that tracks time, current depth, and a memory of maximum depth up to 70 meters. Current depth is read by the red-arrow hand that is filled with blue lume that contrasts the green luminous plots around the dial, so it remains highly legible at any depth. Beneath this arrow is a white max-depth memory indicator, which remembers your most recent maximum depth, crucial for calculating safety stops or surface intervals between repeated dives. This depth can be recalled or reset ahead of your next dive using the pushers on the opposite side of the case.

Citizen Promaster Altichron, Eco Drive [BN4021-02E]

For the adventurer on land, the Promaster Altichron features a digital altimeter allowing the wearer to navigate their way through elevations from 300 meters below to 5000 meters above sea level. The name “Altichron” combines “altitude” with “chronometer,” it is as an all-analog timepiece that combines time-telling with a compass and altimeter, keeping the reliable Citizen Eco-Drive light powered movement. The watch is water resistant to 200m, too. Yes, you can dive with it, but the altimeter system is not really designed to operate as a depth gauge for diving. So, it wouldn’t be as appropriate as other Promaster watches under the sea.
